About Me
My journey within the nutrition field started with my own struggles with managing my weight as a teenager. Being a teenager with little knowledge about nutrition I found it very difficult to develop a healthy relationship between food and my body. However, through my own research and completion of my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and my masters degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University.
However, I understand how difficult it can be to have a healthy relationship with food. And have spent many years working with different patient populations in the tristate area to expand my knowledge and counseling skills with patients of diverse backgrounds. I strongly believe in teaching skills to clients that they may utilize in their everyday lives to establish more thoughtful habits while promoting a general healthful lifestyle.
My niche revolves around clients who are looking to make general lifestyles changes, whether that be emotional, physical or diet related. I continue to further my knowledge by attending conferences with all disciplines within the health care setting to understand medication interactions and how certain comorbidities may play a role in one's tolerances in relation to their eating habits. Within the last few months, I have created a recipe book for clients who are interested in a Mediterranean diet to promote heart health and better quality of life, using updated research from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
